After Cue’s launch day: Cue, DSH, Grok Bot, Muse — a chooser for DSH readers

Within hours of Cue’s September 28 launch, X stopped asking what Cue is and started asking which existing name it replaces. @FacundoMarino1 put Cue next to Muse and Grok Bot in one question. @wisereborn teased a guide. @jhdxhl reacted in Chinese. @wjessup was skeptical. That cluster is a mood, not a matrix. This pulse strips it down to lanes, for readers who already live in DeepSeek Harness and do not need a fourth product pitch. Cue and DSH are not 1:1 substitutes. Grok Bot and Muse are not DSH either. The useful act on launch day is to name the lane, then ignore the rest of the thread.
What the posts actually did
The maker’s posts are narrow. @CueAgents said hello: personal agents, on Cue, at cue.im. @CueAgents said early access is free and limited, and named Android, Mac, and Windows. @ManusAI introduced personal agents on Cue. The official description remains section 3 of the Manus 2.0 post: a standalone app, each agent with email, phone, wallet, and computer, group chat for handoff, you keep the final call. iOS is in App Store review. Phone numbers are in select countries, some voice-only. The starter invite mentioned in public is MEETCUE, and it is limited. A price after early access has not been published.
The community posts did a different job. They grabbed the nearest consumer-agent names and asked for a winner. That is normal. It is also how a life-ops app, a desktop companion, a Meta Muse-lane product, and an open coding harness end up in one screenshot. @wjessup’s skepticism is a useful brake on that screenshot: a launch thread is not a field test. @jhdxhl is evidence the same compression happened in Chinese. @wisereborn is evidence people already want a buying guide. This note is a lane card, not that guide’s feature table. We do not have, and will not invent, a spec sheet for Grok Bot or Muse in order to fill a column.

The table is a sorting hat for sentences, not a ranking. Cue occupies the life-ops cell because Manus said so, with contact points and a budgeted wallet. DSH occupies the harness cell because the repository says so, and because nothing in Cue’s launch offered a forkable loop or a plugin kernel. Grok Bot and Muse occupy cells only because launch-day questions put them there. Leaving their feature rows blank is the point. Filling them from memory would turn this pulse into a rumor.
Where DSH still sits alone
Look at Cue, Grok Bot, Muse, and DSH the way the quote-tweets do, and one cell refuses to collapse. Cue is a hosted personal app. The other two names are being used as consumer companions. DeepSeek Harness is the open plugin runtime: Web UI, headless, modes, sandboxes, a Cordis kernel, a preview that can break. Nobody in the Cue launch posts offered to replace npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web with a group chat. The Cascade note is the closest Manus comes to a harness conversation, and Cascade is in-house and closed. Its −23.2% tokens / −28.2% time / −32% cost line is a one-config self-test. It does not move DSH out of the open-plugin lane, and it does not move Cue into it.
If your work this week is a tool plugin, a sandbox boundary, a session you can replay, or a model key you bring yourself, the launch does not give you a new install command. It gives you a neighboring category. The identity note and the group-chat guide are how that neighbor is shaped. Use them when a teammate drops a screenshot. Then go back to the harness.
Noise to leave on the floor
Two threads are loud enough to waste an evening, and neither one changes the lane.
Invite-code FOMO. Early access is free with an invite, and MEETCUE has been circulated as a limited, first-come starter. A code running out is how a limited code behaves. It is not evidence the product is finished, and it is not evidence you should point a DSH workspace at a random “Cue loader.” iOS is still in App Store review. Android, Mac, and Windows are the clients the official account named. If the code fails, the official state is “limited,” not “find a mirror.”
Clone-avatar chatter. Launch day also grows lookalike accounts, avatar swaps, and threads that are about the spectacle of agents rather than the stack. Treat that chatter as noise. The identity that matters, if you are evaluating Cue, is the one Manus described: email, phone, wallet, computer, budget, final call. The identity that matters, if you are evaluating DSH, is still the repository. A cloned avatar does not ship either one.
Skepticism belongs in the notes, not in a pile-on. @wjessup is a reminder to wait for the product to do the thing. The Manus post is a reminder of which thing was promised. Hold both. Do not average them into a star rating.
What to do tonight
Try Cue if, and only if, life-ops identity is the task in front of you: an agent that can message, call in a supported country, pay inside a budget you set, and work on a machine the app provides, with you keeping the last word. Start at cue.im and the Manus post. Ignore any country list that did not come from Manus.
Keep DeepSeek Harness if the task is the harness. Plugins, sandboxes, teams you can inspect, a preview you are willing to pin. Grok Bot and Muse can stay in the group chat where someone asked about them. They are not the open-plugin lane, and this pulse will not borrow their reputations to make a DSH point. When the thread asks “which one wins,” answer with the lane. Winners are for products in the same category. These four names are not.
